Application from abroad
You live abroad and want to come to Germany in order to learn German at
the Spracheninstitut in Kassel? Then register for one or more intensive
German courses. You can start a course regularly every month, if you
have sufficient previous knowledge. Absolute beginners can start every
second month.
There are various possibilities to register for a course:
a) Online via our Website
b) via E-Mail
c) with support from friends or relatives
d) via Fax
e) via mail
Registration requires the following essential information: Your family
name, your name, your date and place of birth, your address, your
e-mail address, and your country of origin, the starting date and level
of the course. The best thing to do is to fill out the online
registration form. After successful registration and receipt of course
fees, we write a confirmation of course enrolment, which you will need
when you apply for your visa. We are always glad to answer your
questions or further enquiries by telephone, e-mail or fax.
A student’s visa or language student’s visa is regularly
issued, if the course is an intensive course and lasts longer than
three months. Otherwise one could enter with a tourist or visitor visa.
These visas cannot be extended.
The German embassies and consulates need the following documents in
order to process the application for a student’s or language
student’s visa:
a) Confirmation of course registration with receipt of course fee payment
b) Health insurance documents
c) Verification of financial status: blocked account, letter of commitment, surety
d) For students: possibly temporary approval from a university school for higher education in Germany
e) Application form for visa
f) Valid passport
The required documents can vary from country to country. You can obtain
the latest information from German government agencies or their
websites. We are happy to advise you about these issues, and not only
in German. Get in touch with us!
We can procure health insurance for you, as well as accommodation in
Kassel, if you need them. We can also support you in order to get a
temporary approval from a university.
When you receive your visa and come to Kassel, we conduct an extended
consultation. You do a test before you begin with the course, in order
to determine the appropriate level. During your stay in Kassel, you get
further valuable tips and help.
If your details are clear and your documents are complete, you should
automatically get the visa. If you are refused a visa, you get a
message of rejection (unfortunately without details but with a file
number). We absolutely need this message in order to ask for reasons of
rejection or to refund your fees. We refund the fees except 100 €
processing fee. We transfer the fees to a bank account or to a person
you trust. |
